Vacationing with a boy Day 2: The Importance of Splitting Up

Towel Animal of the day...a dog?

Today's Fruity Drink: Caribbean Breeze, poolside while I watched an ice carving demo

Today's Bottle of Wine: Black Opal Shiraz (AMAZING!)

Location: Somewhere north of Cuba in the ocean, a perfect spot to spend my 25th birthday

Its my Birthday and I'll eat Fro-Yo if I want to!

Highlights: Relaxing and tanning, a mojito before dinner, the first formal night, the birthday cake JP got me, purchasing the wine package so we could have a bottle with dinner each night, the Frank Sinatra tribute show in the theater

So don't let the title freak you out. JP and I didn't have some horrible falling out on my birthday in the middle of the caribbean. We just discovered that we didn't need to spend every waking moment on the boat together. Going into the trip I had this really romantic notion that we'd just walk around arm in arm all the time. We'd never fight and miraculously want to partake in ALL the same activities. Unfortunately, I totally forgot that when it comes to relaxing, JP and I have very different priorities. I really wanted to tan and read my book while JP really wanted to amble around the deck and eat ice cream. Instead of bickering about what to do, we just split up. Momentarily it seemed odd that we were spending the first part of our vacation alone, but the sun was shining and my book was interesting and soon the feelings of "Omg! We're the worst couple ever!!!" faded. Vacations cost too much money to waste them trying to force out fun!!
Turns out JP and I WERE in sync with each other more than I thought when I sat down by the pool...we ran into each other in the buffet line at lunch time and ended up relaxing together by the pool for an hour that afternoon :-)

Caught: Relaxing...Mission Accomplished!!
Until tomorrow,
Jill-ron
