Vacationing With A Boy Day 7: It's Been a Lovely Cruise

Today's Towel Animal: A Sting Ray!!

Today's Fruity Drink: Mai Tai

Today's Bottle of Wine: Fetzer Zinfindel

Location: Caribbean Sea somewhere off the Eastern Coast of Cuba

So other than it being the last day of our cruise, Day 7 had a major low point and a major high point. I'll start with the low point because well then I can end this blog/series on a high note. Since this vacation was generally a good experience for us...I felt that ending on a high was important. ONWARDS.

Generally, the food on a Carnival Cruise doesn't change too much. We recognized a LOT of the same dishes we had two years ago on our graduation cruise on the menu in May. There is a particular dessert, the Warm Chocolate Melting Cake, that I enjoyed on the last night of the first cruise that I had decided to save for the last night of this cruise. It's seriously an amazing dish people...a souffle cup of chocolate thats baked JUST enough so that the center is warm, creamy, gooey, melted chocolate goodness. Its quite large and I spent the ENTIRE week waiting to order this dish, which was especially hard as JP ordered it like three times over the course of the week.

JP was not thrilled will this nights wine selection...
Well when I finally did get around to ordering it on the last night...they had cooked it too long and it was just...well cake. Mediocre chocolate cake. I was crushed!!!!! I softened the blow later by ordering a "Last Call"...aka a drink with much rum and blue curacao. I will forever rue the day when Carnival messed up my Warm Chocolate Melting Cake.

This is apparently Cuba...or a tanker near Cuba...JP took like six of these pictures

Now on to the highlight of the day!! When JP and I got back on the ship after Grand Cayman, we found a note slipped under our door saying that I'd won a Spa raffle! I didn't remember entering any spa raffle...but HEY who turns down a win like that. Turns out I won 30% off a full 55 minute body massage!!! So on Friday I ditched JP for a bit and went and got massaged. I FULLY recommend people do these kinds of things on a cruise ship. They're expensive...but you just feel like you're glowing afterwards. I followed it up with a little steam in the sauna (which smelled like mint and lemongrass!!!) and lunch in the dining room with JP. AMAZEBALLS!!!!!

Hey look its our ship!! Thanks Carnival Liberty

So there you have it, we vacationed, we relaxed, we didn't kill each other and we may actually like each MORE now that we're back. I swear there are some DIFFERENT entries yet to come soon!!! Thanks for bearing with me folks!
